Jared Boxes
The mission of the Jared Box Project is to lift the spirits, entertain, and put a smile on the face of children in the hospital. A Jared Box is a plastic shoe box filled with games, toys, activities, and notes specific to the age and gender of a child. Boxes are created with love and donated to the pediatric oncology department at City of Hope. EE members donate approximately 70 Jared Boxes each year. One member's elementary class filled their own boxes to donate along with ours!

Desi Geestman Foundation
The Desi Geestman Foundation is a unique charity that is supported by people who want to make a difference. The goal is to provide financial and emotional support to children suffering from cancer and their families at The City of Hope and other children’s hospitals.
EE donates funds and gift cards to the Desi Geestman Foundation. Our donations are gas cards (as families often have a long drive to City of Hope), grocery store gift cards, restaurant gift cards, and cash (to pay for rent for parents who can't work and utility payments). EE donated brand new books and a new bookcase to be placed in pediatric oncology department at City of Hope. We also donated pajamas so all patients would have a new pair for the Christmas party.

World Fellowship
DKG Impacts Education Worldwide through World Fellowship. Awards are given to non-member women educators who are continuing their education. Women who could not otherwise move forward are able to achieve their potential because of the DKG World Fellowship Program. An expanded education is the greatest gift that can be bestowed upon anyone who is passionate for knowledge and hungry to explore the paths of change visualized through learning. Receiving this opportunity to explore these avenues can open up a whole new world for the woman arriving to study in the United States or Canada.
In 1946, the World Fellowship Program began at the DKG National Convention in San Francisco. Four German women educators received funds from Delta Kappa Gamma to spend 8 weeks of study and visitation in Sweden during the spring of 1948. Shortly thereafter, in 1952, the World Fellowship Program began an alliance with UNESCO to provide special help for Korean women.

Emergency Fund
Following a 1948 flood that destroyed Vanport, Oregon, a plea for help in the DKG NEWS resulted in more than $3,000 that became the Emergency Fund. The fund continues as natural disasters affect members. Contributions demonstrate the Society’s “genuine spiritual fellowship.”
Members who sustain major losses from floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, wild fires and other natural disasters may be recommended by their chapter and state organization presidents to receive a U.S. $500 Emergency Fund Award.
